New Natural Lures for Perch and Pike

If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the lookout for new gear that can give you an edge on the water. Recently, I’ve aquired with a fresh batch of natural lures for perch and pike. These shad style lures have recently been released by Fox Rage and in this article we’re going to take a closer look at them.

Three Stunningly Natural Little 7cm Slick Shads

My confidence has grown to new levels when using the Slick Shad and these little beauties look epic!

- Slick Shad 7cm, Silver Halo

These are going to be awesome little lures on the river and on the large ressies. I’ll fish these on a little jighead or they’ll be devastating on the dropshot!
This Colour! In Love with Silver Halo!

The newly released pattern that I’m most excited about is the Silver Halo. This mackerel style pattern has been rolled out onto our favourite lures from the Fox Rage range.

Another New Colour for the Slick Shad

The 9cm version of the Slick Shad has caught me a number of big perch. My favourite colour is Green Pumpkin, however, I’ve been out fishing with the Slick Shad 9cm in Natural Perch with pretty much instant results!

Pick of the Bunch
Zander Pro Shad, 14cm Silver Halo
This has to be the lure that I’m most excited about. Last season I enjoyed some incredible pike fishing and this 14cm Zander Pro Shad was the lure that did the most damage. I can tell already that the lure below in Silver Halo is going to catch a lot of fish.

Check out the stripes across the top of the Zander Pro Shad in Silver Halo 14cm. Pike love to devour mackerel and pike will almost cerainly devour this lure!
Immediate Success!
My first trip out with the new lures and it was off to a bad start! I jumped in the car and the battery was flat! This meant that I missed the pikes early morning feeding spell. I was, however, out on the water by midday and although the conditions weren’t great I managed to catch several nice pike on this short session, all on the 14cm Zander Pro Shad in Silver Halo!

Trying out new lures can feel like a gamble, but I cannot wait to get out on the water and try these natural lures for perch and pike. I often use natural lures as part of my typical rotation on any given day. There’s a common theory that natural lures work best in clear water, but I would feel confident using these new patterns in just about any conditions! Maybe give them a try and let me know how you get on!
